Like a Virgin is a darling, long hip length, fitted, cardigan with an irresistible ruffle, and bracelet length sleeves, an excellent choice for pairing with pearls.  Done with simple knit instructions, it’s a perfect first sweater. Because it’s done in a chunky yarn it knits up quickly, and makes seaming a breeze.  Perfect for seamed construction virgins!

** This sweater has negative ease so the weave of the knit should be fairly stretchy. Gedifra Extra Soft Merino Grand is considered a bulky weight yarn; however, it is perhaps best substituted with a heavy worsted knit to the same gauge, since it’s a fairly thin and elastic bulky yarn.

A test swatch is best not skipped for this project, if your yarn makes a dense firm fabric it’s best to go up at least one size, or better yet choose a different yarn.

Designers note: It should be noted that these instructions are written for beginners and are, therefore, uncondensed.  Those familiar with condensed patterns may find this pattern lengthy and repetitive.  I have done my best to write the patterns in a typical fashion, with line by line instructions afterwards.
